About us

Croatian Canadian Cultural Centre Calgary was established as a focal point for Croats, and friends of Croatia, in Calgary area. The building of the Centre had the grand opening, attended by many dignitaries, in 1984 and had three additions since then.

Significant Croatian immigration to Canada started in 19th century but the large number of Croats arrived to western Canada after WWII. Originally numbering only a few hundreds the Croatian community proved to be hard working and its numbers grew steadily through the years. Current building of the Centre was erected with generous donations from the members of Croatian community in combination with a grant from the government of Alberta.
